The 12+1=13 Sequence

The prime number 13 is a very important number in the Bible.  Not only is this a prime number, it is the 7th prime number giving it a double importance.

This is a number that God has chosen to asign to those that are Holy. In the 12 +1=13 sequence. The 12 are separate from the +1, the 13th.

The Levite Example

One of the best-known examples of the 12+1 sequence are the 12 tribes of Israel. Actually there were 12 tribes + 1. God had determined to take the Levite tribe unto Himself and make them a tribe of priests. In Numbers 1:49, God gave Moses special instructions when He commanded him to number the tribes of Israel.

Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:”

The Levite tribe was not to be numbered with the 12. The Levite Tribe is the +1 tribe, the tribe that Yahweh took for Himself to be a tribe of priests. Therefore, the total number of all of tribes is 12+1.

Jesus and the 12+1

Another prime example of Yahweh’s 12+1 sequence was Jesus and His 12 disciples. There are scriptural references like the following:

Matthew 20:17-18

“17 And Jesus going up to Jerusalem
took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,
18 Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,”

Matthew 26:18-20

“18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
20 Now when the even was come,
he sat down with the twelve.

Jesus had many disciples but these were the first special 12.

The Twelve

In Luke 9:11-12, the Bible states:

“11 And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.
12 And when the day began to wear away,
then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place. “

Again, there was Jesus and His 12 disciples (12+1=13).
In this section you have seen some examples where God used the number 12 in the Bible. In the next chapter, you will see how God added some of the +1 sequences together to arrive at the number 12. Numerically, the +1 of the 12+1 sequence is also important as it returns the number to a prime number. When you count the number 1 as a prime number, the number
13 is the 7th prime.

The 12+1 Around the Throne in Heaven

John’s Vision of the Throne of God

In this example, John had a vision of God and those divine spirits that surround His throne.

In Revelation 4:1-8, John wrote:

"1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come".

Divine Beings Around the Throne

1. Yahweh the Almighty
4. The Four Angels around the throne
7   The Seven Spirits of God before the throne

----

12

Later iii this vision, God presents the book of prophecy to the Lamb of God. It is the Lamb of God who opens and presents the prophecies that God has written. In this vision, Christ is the +1  to appear in this 12+1 sequence.

In Revelation 5:6-7, the prophet John wrote about the appearance of the Lamb of God::

"6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne."

Again, we have the following:

1. Yahweh the Almighty
4. The Four Angels around the throne
7   The Seven Spirits of God before the throne

----

12

+

1 - Lamb of God

--

13 -  Beings of divine origin around about the throne
